Daemian

Am I alive or am I dead? I don't exactly know but I can hear faint voices arround me... still, I don't understand a single word. Perhaps they're the voices of my victims... shadows of the past. There are many in the Nine Hells who would desire my presence amongst them. If I am dead, then my torment will soon begin. Alas, it feels more like a dream, as I cannot move an inch and although I see there is nothing distinctive anywhere I look. It's like I'm watching myself dying... I can hear the voices again; they are closer but still, I can't make word they're saying. I wonder who are they. So many bodies I've left behind and so much grief. But for some particular reason I feel no remorse, no regret.
    I remember one "job" that has taken place some time ago, which I had to plan carefully: there was this one apprentice who wanted to dispose of his master - a proud and powerful elf mage. After some insight of the future target, I decided to use his "affection" for the ladies. You see, the apprentice wanted to get rid of his master, but without bloodshed. Personally, I would have preferred a swift blade in the back and then to hide his body in a swamp where no one would find it, but I did as my employee desired. At one of their occasional reunions, I changed into a beautiful woman, knowing for sure that he would not resist me. And he did exactly as I expected: he fell in love with the illusion almost instantly and after only one week he was eating from my hand. I met him on night and asked him to drink from the ceremonial cup of wine that would bind us together for all eternity. He was so smitten that he didn't even ask about this strange "ceremony". I think that I could have actualy told him that it was Yuan-Ti poison in the wine, as he trusted me completely. Moments after he took the first sip, he fell unconcious. A strange smile appeared on my face - it was not that I was glad about what I had done to him, but I always enjoy myself when my plans work to the letter. His aprentice entered the room and handing me a most beautiful and precious jewel and said:
- "Here is your pay, as we agreed. what will happen to him now?"
- "He has become one of the living dead" I replied."You will say that he tried to use the jewel to get imortality and increase his powers but it backfired on him. He will be cast away by his own kin. Humans will hunt him, elves will despize and hate him, all the living shall fear him... and you will take his place. "
After that the apprentice opened a portal which led me on the outskirts of the town and I've never heard of them again.

The dream ends and Daemian slowly opens his eyes...

(for herself)"This...man seems to tell the truth, although I think he's hiding something. I don't know if I can trust him...but whether I want to accept it or not he has just saved my life. If I don't help him, my conscience would be forever burdened. I may learn new things about that plane and about the plague he's carrying. I have to be careful though." She turns to him her black eyes, somehow annoyed, but with a hidden aura of pitty: "It is my duty, as an archmage to help those in need and to fight necromancers and their kind, I have to be a model , you see." Her voice is getting colder: "You won't get the chance to see once more what happened to me today, I assure you, but 'till I prove you my powers, I owe you." A strange, frozen smile appears on her face. "It's rather unfortunate we don't have all the time in the world, I shall help you to bring the necromancer to justice." She casts a spell and the they step in the other plane. The city remains dark and quiet, as if it had got ridden of an unholy presence.

Nashana aproaches the unconscious male and checks for a pulse. â€Ã...“Good he is still alive. Take care of him and call me when he wakes upâ€Ã, . The servants hurry to accomplish the order and Nashana calls her spy.
â€Ã...“What happened?â€Ã,
â€Ã...“ I did as I was told mistress. I followed him into the cave were the mushrooms grow. There, he was attacked by a drider. He fought bravely, but my mistress knows what a terrible enemy a drider is. It is a miracle that he is alive, much less that he managed to defeat it.â€Ã,
â€Ã...“I do not need your opinion. Just tell me what happened! Did he do anything suspicious or did he meet with someone? â€Ã,
â€Ã...“No mistress he only talked with some locals about the location of the mushroomsâ€Ã,
â€Ã...“He didn't realize that you were following him, did he?â€Ã,
â€Ã...“No mistress"
â€Ã...“I see, very well from now on you shall be his shadow and if he does anything suspicious you will report back to meâ€Ã,
â€Ã...“You still don't trust him?â€Ã,. Nashana gives Zaara a harsh glance. Zaara quickly retires and Nashana begins to inspect the mushrooms.â€Ã,Yes this will serve my purpose well. It will take some time before the poison takes effect but it will. Now how to use it? Food poison? No, to common. A massage oil? Yes it enters the skin and in the end the effect is the same. All I have to do is visit my darling elder sister  and leave it there. Hmm... I wont even be blamed it takes at least six days for the poison to take effect.â€Ã,A servant approaches and distracts the drow from her thoughts.
â€Ã...“Mistresses he has awakenedâ€Ã,. Nashana hurrys to the chamber were Daemian was taken. She approaches the bed and looks at the him â€Ã,His wounds are great but for a reason I'm glad he is alive. Yes I think he can be very useful.â€Ã,
â€Ã...“How are you felling?â€Ã,

- Oww... I must still be alive if my first sight is that of your radiant face, mistress. I hope that you are pleased with the way I handled your task, although I must say it was not easy, as I first thought. It seems that I had stumbled across a drider's layer and it's a miracle that I managed to defeat it. Alas it has wounded me badly... I thought I was dead, mistress. Thank you for taking care of my wounds, mistress. I don't know if I would have survived without your help. I am grateful and also in your debt. As soon as I will regain my strength I will be happy to repay you kindness...

And he falls back to the dreamworld.

Nashana thinks to herself: "Arrogant male! I didn't treat your wounds. I would never lower myself to such a thing. It was the servants. And they only did it because I still need your service. Now i need to visit my sister before he wakes up." Nashana went to her older sister, spending only the time she needs to, because the woman really is insufferable. Besides the matron mother, she treats everyone like they are beneath her. "That is really something I'm not used to.It would be a pleasure to watch her die. Alas, that cannot be. Instead, I will be happy to know her dead wasn't a pleasant one." After the quick, but frustrating visit, Nashana returns home. There, she finds out that Daemian is still in a bad shape, but at least he is awake. "It is, perhaps, for the better that you were hurt." she thinks to herself. "This way I can keep an eye on you and it is the best time to ask you some more questions.Your wounds will distract you and it will be harder for you to lie. I don't know why, but there is something odd about you, something I do not trust."
"You never did give me any details about your mission or why you have failed."

@Nashana

"What's with all these questions? After all that I have done she still doesn't trust me. Damn, this woman is impossible! Unfortunately for her, I always prepare my cover and the assassination mission gave me exactly what I needed to pass on as a true drow."

- I did not want to bore you with details, mistress. But if you so desire I shall ne glad to give you a full insight of my mission. My house had some recent losses of members due to the battles with some annoying elves. It seems that quite a large group of these pestering fools camped on the outskirts of our town - Baereghel. Somehow they managed to get past the guardians that were protecting one of the entrances to the Underdark that eventually led to our town. We suspect that they were informed by a spy about how to defeat them. They also knew how to strike best and how to defend against us. Seeing that we have no chance of defeating them on our own, the matron mother sent me to Llurth Dreier to ask for their help. And the rest of it you know. Now I cannot go back to Baereghel if I value my life. You now know all, mistress, and if you should desire you would be able to inform my house of my failure and that would mean my death. Thus, my life is in your hands, mistress Nashana... do with it as you please.

"Heh, I was the spy in my story. I was the one that infiltrated the house Maerdyn and I was the one that helped the elves. It's not that I care about the elves, but the price they have offered for my services was more than satisfactory; and I may be an assassin, but I have honor, thus I... almost never betray my employer. I still don't know why haven't I completed my mission, but this woman intrigues me plenty... for now."

What is this? Where are we? this land is dark and cold. Not the kind of place where i would expect HER to live. But now i'm here... wherever this "here" is. And what about this young mage  following me, offering me her help. All from her hate against the undead. Let's hope she doesn't find out i'm one of them before the time is right.
"thank you my lady. if we are to travel together i would like you to call me... Nemesis. it's a good name for me to have the rest of my days..cough*... since my old name is... forgotten". (to my self: the name of Aratoamin is well known among mages of all races... it has been serving as an example of "how not to meddle with the forces of gods" and it's better left forgoten... for now.). "And if i'm not to bold asking your name?"
But before she could answer my elven ears hear some voices. Their language is strange, it reminds me of the curses i've learned in school decades ago. It's drow! This must be The Underdark!
I leap forward and pull the young mage behind a boulder covering her mouth with my raggy sleave. She hasn't heared them yet. These humans, so weak and yet so powerful...Her eyes... her cold black eyes are now full of life, stabbing me like two knives. If she struggles more they would hear us. "Shhh (i whisper)... i hear voices. We should be careful, i don't like this place."

The Archmage is confused, she knows from her studies that she's now on the drow teritory."Why did I ventured here, am I seeking my death? Was I too succesful? And what is this...creature that brought me here? I can feel his power...he must be more than he told me". A thunder seems to go through her eyes: "Why didn't he tell me more? He's so close to me now, I could so easily get the desease myself...But what would be worse, to die because of the plague or to be killed by some kind of creature? The second death is obviously a more glorious one...". Her pale face seems somehow calmer: "There must be a way out of this...I think I just fear the unknown." There are two creatures in front of the boulder, and they are obviosly looking for something, for them... They don't seem to be material, they are hooded shadows. The shadows are getting closer and closer while she thinks how could she kill them without attracting much attention. Under Nemesis' frightened look she closes her eyes and lets a white globe of pale light go to one of the shadows. The touch of magic seems to melt the imaterial body, and the shadow disapears like vaporised, penetrated by the power of thought. The second readies his dagger and charges. The Archmage opens her eyes and two blue, transparent arrows thurst the shadow, making it stop. In the same moment an invisible boulder crushes the mysterious foe. With a pleased and yet unsure smile, she wants to see Nemesis' reaction: "I suppose this doesn't mean we're safe...At least these creatures, as frightening as they seem, are weak to the tricks of the mind.", she whispers.

(to my self: She killed the drows! Dammit! She has a lot of power, but she lacks the wisdom of the ages. But even dead, this drows can be of use to us.Let's just hope that they were only unimportant males or we would have a entire city looking for us for killing one of their Matron mothers. At least i know i can rely on her when it comes to battle.)
"You are very powerful my lady, but this is not enough in the land of the drow. We must also use stealth and wisdom if we are to survive here."
Nemesis searches the drow's remains. Their bodies are almost intact,only tiny drops of blood dripping from their eyes, mouts and nostrils. Their armor and clothes are in perfect condition and one of them has a map with a city marked nearby,a lot of caves and a road system.
"we should use the drow's equipment. luckaly i know a spell that will change our appearance to drow and our speach too. we should be able to infiltrate their city and search there for more informations on our foe. there is a problem though... u must know of the drow's society. we can't walk together as equals so while we are in the drow city i shall act as your slave and u shall be my mistress. i shall try to do my best but be advised, i was a proud man in my youth and i am not used to this... "
Nemesis hands out a set of equipment to The Archmage and turns his back on her as they change clothes. But he can't help to notice in the dark adamantium armor the reflection of the perfectly shaped body, so diffrent from his own twisted limbs weak with decay. He almost feels something again... but quickly turns the feeling away. Love is suffering, love brought him to his situation.There is no room in his life for any other feeling but hate. maybe as a drow she won't be as attractive.He closes his eyes and starts chanting the spell. When they turn towards each other they are diffrent, they are drow. She is still gorgeus, but he is not the weak diseased anymore. Now he stands proud, strong and charismatic as he once was...

The Archmage looks at Nemesis' new appearence: "How can one plagued, crippled man become a young elf, looking so powerful. Why doesn't he change his appearence in a more pleasant one? Unless... " The thought breaks and her elvish but still black eyes get narrower, as if she knew something, but she didn't want to accept the thought. She sees his mysterious, drow, face, but she can't help seeing the image of the plagued beggar. She tries to locate his individuality in his words and spells. "I don't remember telling you my name, Nemesis. You may call me Mens, that's the only name I accepted since..." she hesitates, "Well, since I started to follow the path of knowledge.". She pauses for a moment and, as they are moving forward: "You haven't told me much about yourself...If my question doesn't hurt you, can I ask how was your life before meeting the necromancer? Or how do you feel the hate and revenge tormenting your soul?"

vladase

@RedDevil:
A sad smile appears on Nemesis's face. Memories of a past life full of passion, lust and desire flash before his eyes. All his lovers, beautiful but vain... And his one, true love... his arch nemesis. She wouldn't understand. Those who pledge their life to "Mens" often leave the little bits of "anima" behind. They become soulless minds driven only by their thirst for knowledge and power over one's mind, one's body. They forget that the biggest power we have is our soul. I've heared about her... Mens. Once she hated and overcomed one of the most powerful necromancers in the land. Now she doesn't remember what hate feels like. I must wake up the power of her soul if we are to succeed...but how? Only two emotions are powerfull enough: love and hate. I can't love anymore and she doesn't seem capable to love either. So hate must be the answer. But hate against who?
"My past life is better left forgotten for now. I don't think u would understand my ways. Enough said that i never tried to hurt anyone but  i succeded to atract hate,envy and enemys. I never hated until i loved..." (his face hardens) " the necromancer killed my love and turned it into hate. Hate is all that fuels me, it keeps me alive and it gives me a purpose." (a fire starts burning in his drowish eyes) "It's like a fire that burns within and destroys everything in it's path.It gives me power to overcome any obstacle... but with a terrible price. " (his face turns away from the young Archmage) "But enough said for now. we should concentrate on our mission and..."
Suddenly the earth starts to shake. "What...?!" Three large boulders start moving towards them... Earth elementals! She has a lot of power but what can she do against this mindless creatures? A sfift movement of hand, a single whispered arcane word and a powerfull fireball burns the earth elementals to ashes only 10 feet away...
I can see the surprise on her face.I shouldn't have acted so rash, i should have tried and run or at most turn them away. i must think of something...
"Who would of guessed it...this ring i had taken from the drows had so much power... but it's all spent." (Stupid... but what else could i do?) "Here, take it and maybe u can make it work again..." Nemesis hands out a red flamed ring to Mens. She takes it without a word and puts it away without giving it a single look... But the surprise that was on her face dissapeared and her beautiful eyes are as cold as ever.
After three hours marh without any further incidents they reach the drow town's gates. Here stand three guards and the captain of the gate."It's time. U should speak to them. And remember, they are lowly males and u are a powerful female. Make them obey... but don't hurt them to much."

"Everything is so mysterious here, but I think I'm beginning to understand more, though." Her eyes are calm, but restless, she seems to be preocupied by something. The three drow guards greet her with respect, waiting information . As she frozens their random expresions with a cold grasp, so typical for her and yet so typical for a drow female, she thinks that any story would work. "I come a long way, I've got a confidential mission and I must take my first steps here. ". The guards seem convinced. She continues, looking at Nemesis: "This is my slave. It shouldn't be any problem, should it?" The capitain, somehow frightened by her strong presence speaks on a humile tone: "But of course, you may pass, may you accomplish your mission without difficulties.". She answers with a frozen and yet so attractive smile. It seems that the drow form suits her better than the original one.
The two of them go through the gate, while she becomes somehow less tense. There are only drow in the city, but she feels safe. She has never thought that she could play so well as a drow... She doesn't know, however, what would this city have in common with a necromancer. Till now she has done what Nemesis has advised her...Where are they going? "What now?"she asks Nemesis.

"I see that you are awake. You had a nightmare...while you were sleeping your stick was gllowing. I now see that is somehow connected with your thoughts...hmmm...interesting... Anyway a sparrow had come back with information. North of here there is a big object crushed among the trees. One of the sparrows got too close to the object and was instantly desintegrated. Do you know what that could be? We should get going..." The druid ready himself for the journey ahead, the woman stands up too and looked at him with her wide beautiful eyes. The druid didn't noticed that, but he also is begining to consider this woman more than just a travel companion...maybe a friend...a human friend, something that he didn't had since...well since a long time...
He says: "Let's go." They began walking northwards, the woman following the Archdruid at close range, admiring the beauty of the surroundings...After a short track the druid stoped "Wait... I can sense blood near here". The Archdruid went off the initial track, through some bushes and vines, followed by the woman and they reached a small cave. "Ahhh....i remember this cave." And he smilies looking to the woman..."This is where i passed my first test in becoming a Great Druid. I had to bring my master some mushrooms that only grow in this region. He needed them to make an antidote for a person that was injured in a failed assassination coming from the drow. You see...the drow use posion on their weapons so that they can kill even the strongest of opponents with only one scratch. So here i was searching for these mushrooms, when i found this cave, i've entered it and..." He begans laughting making the woman smile too. "I was such a lucky fool. Back then i just mastered my wolfwere shapeshifting form. So i said i've entered the cave, and two driders jumped on me before i had time to react, i've pushed one of them away with my staff, but the other one bit my leg so hard that broke the bone. I've quickly conjured some fire seeds and throwed them into the driders face. He let go of my leg, but the second one was ready to bite my other leg so i decided to try for the first time in a real combat situation, the wolwere form. I concetrated and immediatly, beyong my expectiations i was on my feet transformed into a wolwere, my foot healed because of the regenaration ability wolweres posses. I went full charge on the second drider and manage to decapitate it in one single blow, and then i went for the second wich was trying to excape, i howled and stuck my claws in it's bowels killing it instantly. I then took the mushrooms and hurryed back to my master. Luckily enough i managed to bring them in good time, my master saving that persons life."...He looks up to the sky as in remembering something long forgotten. "Ahhh...the times back then...". The woman smiled and sayd: "Thank you for sharing that with me...i apreciate it". He than turnes serious and takes a few steps twards the cave..."Here!!you see?....blood...but it's strange it's not human, n'or elven, n'or dwarven...it's some kind of animal's blood, but i don't know any animal like this living in this forest. Let's take a look inside..." and he gestures to the woman to follow him. When they've made a few steps in the cave the woman stoped and said: "Hey...where are you going? I don't see my hand in front of my eyes" Saying that he takes out her lightsabre and activates it. Suddenly the whole cave is lit up. The Archdruid is amazed and sais: "I think that the thing you are carrying with you is not for a light source is it?" And smilies... "You saved me the trouble of creating some fire seeds."
The body of a drider was lying in front of them with the head cut off..

Sensing the smell and folloing my instincts... that's what leads me to the entrance of a cave... The smell inside was so powerfull, that i almost lost my breath.
In front of the cave, near a rectangular stone form, with a strange green colour, a spectre was looking like waiting for me...
First, i was a little bit stunned... then confused... then i walked closer. The smell was now all around me, and i was feeling like it's getting inside me. I looked at what seemed to be a female, hardly trying to ask her about surrounding and the wierd situation.
From the moment I said my first word, i sensed something like a dagger of green light, comming from the stone, straight to me, heading to my head.
In situations like this, i can't control myself. My body reacts against the danger, sometimes maybe too powerfull. This time, i felt like I was above my own body, and like i could saw it responding to the menace.
I was suddenly surrounded by a very powerful light, becoming a sphere, and that splashing everything around. In the moment when my own light "touched" the green light dagger, i felt like i was touching "someone"... someone who' suffering so much... This feeling was just for a second, the green dagger then vanished...
And that was all i remember... The moment i opened my eyes, I was alone near the same rectangular stone form. The spectre was no more, the smell was gone. I felt like i just killed someone who needs my help.
I looked around, but only the wind was there, whispering. I took a deep breath and headed to the cave. The moon was above me, and the night is dangerous in this places. Before i walked into the cave, i looked back to the place the female spectre seemed to be. There was nothing there, but i was sure she needs me...
This is just the begining. Someone needed my help, and I am ready to give it.
That night i dreamed only the strange female...
I deny reality and substitute my own.

Nemesis frowns : "well, i've never been to a drow city before.But in any city there are two places where one can get information... for the right price:the local tavern and the Thief's Guild. So i think we should split up.Youre imposing presence wouldn't be to helpful in the thief's dens since they are rather...less lawful then you... to say the least.So that's where i'll be heading. We shall meet at the tavern in a few hours... and... be careful."
He watches her as she turns to leave. A quick word and he becomes invisible. "I dunno why... but i feel i'm responsible for her. She's here because of me." He follows her as she is heading towards the tavern. Before she turning the first corner she looks behind... But there is no way she can see him. While she was busy talking to the drows at the gate he has cast some counterspells that should protect him from her powers over the mind.
On one of the alleys a dark-hooded figure moves from the shadows towards Mens. His soft steps make no sound, the dagger covered with a dark poison reflects no light.
"I knew it... even in a drow city, a woman alone is a good target for the thief's guild." Nemesis waits for the right moment. He must imobilize the target without her even knowing they were around. And without hurting the thief. At least not before he could talk. And here it is, the window of oportunity... she turns for another corner."Strange, this time she didn't look back. Isn't she afraid about being followed any more?" The thief is one with the shadows. Before he could turn the corner himself a powerfull force imobilizes him. A paper thin shield of pure magic separates him for the rest of the world. He can't move outside it. He can scream, no one can hear.
Another spell and the alley becomes even darker. I enter the shield. The drow's thrusts his poisoned dagger... i allow him to stab me. Even if i look drowish, i'm still undead inside. I smile as his dagger enters my rib cage looking for the heart. But it stoped beating ages ago. I pull out the dagger and as he trembles in fear, with the utmost terror carved in his face i say : "you shall take me to you local leader." there is no question as there is no other possible answer besides "yes".
The shield and darkness spells are dispeled. The thief caryes a geas as he walks in front of me. If he tries to betray me his soul shall burn in the layers of hell for all eternity.
We reach the thief's guild. On the way to the guild master some drow thiefs try to stop us. It's their fortune that i'm in a good mood so they are just imobilized in another dimension for a few hours. As we reach the guild-master's "office" i smile towards the thief: "you first". As he opens the door i hear a Greater Dispelling being muttered on the other side and imediatly after that three poisoned bolts penetrate him: one in the heart, one in the stomach and one in the eye. As he drops down in front of me my lightning bolt turns the Guild master's sorcerer to dust along with one of this guards. Fortunately the guild-master is left untouched.
I enter the room and the other guard takes a swing at me. Too bad for him, the guild master needs not to know about me being undead. So the guard desintegrates into dust. I take a sit on the couch, wipe a imaginary dust off my clothes and turn towards the Guild leader :"we need to talk".

...goes to the tavern. There is a strange, blue light inside, and a lot of mysterious drow faces. She takes a look at what the people inside are serving and goes to the innkeep, asking one of the local drinks. While he prepares the drink, Mens addresses to him in a soft voice, making him tell everything he knows: "I have an important mission to accomlish, and city is completly new to me. I would apreciate if you would help me with some information." She smiles in a mean way, intimidating the innkeep. His mind is so clear and yet so hard for him to prevent his thoughts from becoming known: "It depends of what you want to know..." Mens concentrates, clouding the innkeep's power of judgement, so she could ask questions that otherwise would betray her identity: "Tell me, what are the major powers in this city". The innkeep speaks mechanicly:"There is the thieves guild, very powerful and dangerous and the assasins guild, even more dangerous.". Mens remains thinking...could there be any necromancers in this guilds? Less likely. Her concentration is more intense, a strange unseen aura is protecting her face: "Do you know anything about necromancy or any kind of occult practices?"."Well, necromancers live with minions as far as I know, but this city is too secured and famous in this territory to hold necromancers. However, if you're refering to poison disease or any strange deaths it must be the assasins guild. Almost everyone knows this, but few people talk about it...". Mens thinks that should be enough: "Thank you.". She frees the innkeep from the spell and remains at a table with her drink."Strange, she thinks, there are no necromancers here...And what's the connection of the assasins with this? I don't know why did I got into this...and I think Nemesis knows more than he's telling me...I have to find out the truth...and soon"
Later she sees Nemesis entering the tavern. He sits at her table and looks at her. It is obvious that he wants to know what she did find out. "I have some information, but I can't connect everything that has been happening lately. I need to know more, and I am sure you have the answers. I don't know if this is the right time or place for this, but I feel blind without knowledge, I think we should have a discussion..."

They aproached the body. "What is this... creature? I think I've seen one before, somewhere." Her comlink started to flicker. "Yes?" A male voice could be heard. "Revan? Finally!" She was obviously trying to calm down after the male voice pronounced that name. "I told you not to call me that! What is it?" "Something is attacking the ship and that creature injured Zena." "Can't Eny heal her?" "Well, Eny is outside fighting. And so is Atton." "Well, then give her some medpacs. What about you?" "I'm doing some repaires on the Hawk. The shield is starting to break." "I'll be there as soon as possible. Shadow out." "Ebon Hawk out."
The silver-haired young man looked at her perplexed. "Why did that bother you so much? That man saying your name." "That was my mother's name. I don't like to be called Revan only because she once was like me, then she became evil, just like that presence we both sensed. And she did terrible things. But it was all Malak's fault. He was her apprentice, but betrayed her. Some planets in the galaxy were destroyed. But I don't hate her." Her smile fainted away after her conversation with both men. "Who was that man?" "The pilot that 'landed' us here." She bent down over the body. "This is freshly killed. We should move on. I have a bad feeling something not so good will happen if we stay here any longer." They exited the cave and came across a large plane "Just like Dantooine." "Dantooine?" "My home planet. It had large golden planes just like these. It also reminds me of my years of training at the Academy." She stopped. "What is it? Why have you stopped?" She opened her eyes. "There is a battle not far from here. Let's go."

The thief's guild leader seems a bit shaken but he realizes that there must be a reason for wich he is still alive. So he speaks:"What can a lowly servant like me do for you my lord?" . I must be smart, i must give him no choice but the truth. But i have no power over the mind of men like Mens does... i must use my own mind to build a perfect trap.
"I want somone takem care of... in a special way by a special person".
His face is lit up by surprise : "But you are so powerful... who is the one who dares to stand in your way... and how can a small worm like my self help u against such a teribile foe?"
And then a stroke of genius lights my path:"As powerful as you see me, i am stil a slave of the drow way of life. I was born a slave and i want my freedom. But my master knows my value and would not let me part her. She is a powerful member of house Makalah and if i were to try and escape or kill her i would be hunt like a dog for the rest of my life. I need ger to be chalenged by a female and killed. All her possesions -including me- would be taken then by the new master. And she -in an unprecedented stroke of kindness... or madness... would grant me my freedom. And you are the one that is going to arrange that."
His face turns grey with fear and his answer is made with trembling words: "But my lord... my guild employs only men... the same is the custom in the assasins guild..."
How can this be? Am i on the wrong track?I must take my chances...
"Why do u lie, worm? Do you not value your life? I know from faithful sources that a woman with violet eyes and silver hair -probably a drow- has done a similar mission, assasinating a powerful elven sorcerer on belhaf of his apprentice in the town of Sundrail. and that she came of this city...what say you?"
His faces lights out..."But my lord... i know who you speak of... but that was no woman... is a shapeshifter called Daemian..." the sky crumbles in my head... if i were not allready sitting down i would have senced the need now. How is this possible? My first true love was... a shapeshifter? How can this be? Not only betrayed... But also mocked... My blood starts boiling. I can barely stop myself from desintegrating this sniveling worm.But i stil need him for contact. He shall live... for now...
"In this case he is the one i need. You shall be in charge of contacting him. Me and my mistress shall have housing at the local taver for the time beeing. Payment is no problem. I only want my freedom, he can keep all my master's possesions. And she has plenty. I hope... make that YOU SHOULD HOPE... that we should never meet again! Understood?"
"Of course, My lord"! the worm is still trembling as i exit the door of his guild house.

@Daemian
(off-role: tu te-ai bagat in asta...  :idiot:  vezi acum cum mai si iesi...  :D intreg in nici un caz...  :p )

@RedDevil:
As i exit the guild house i start having secound thoughts. How can i do this? Is my thirst for revenge so high i am willing to sacrifice a inocent woman as bait? "But there is no sacrifice... you are powerful, you can protect her..." a strange voice whispers to me... But how? I couldn't protect my self against this shapeshifter... "no one is inocent...why do you care about her? she is just like all others..." the same voice whispers to me. But she isn't, She is special... i don't know why, but it feels like this to me. I...like her..."remember, you thought once before someone was special.... and look what that special someone did to you" the voice ends. And the crazy thoughts in my head are burried under a hundred years of hate, like a small flower under tons of snow. She might be special for someone... even for me... but i can't love... and i can not be loved. I MUST NOT LOVE HER... and SHE CAN NOT LOVE ME... there is only one way... it's our destiny not to find love and we can't fight it... HATE is the only answer.
Now that i surpassed my weaknes... i must think... she would be willing to take the risk if i tell her? She would accept to act as bait for a most dangerous foe AFTER i say that most of what i've told her was a lie? She is lead by the power of mind, she wouldn't understand my reasons... she would not keep even the little trust that she has in me now... she would abandon me and my plan would be ruined. She must be kept in the dark for a little bit longer.

As i enter the tavern i notice Mens sitting in a corner. She is still drowish but i can't stop picturing her in my head as i saw her before the transformation... in the dark... gorgeous... perfect... NO! i must chase this thoughts away... i must be strong! As i aproach her she raises her beautiful black eyes and says : "I have some information, but I can't connect everything that has been happening lately. I need to know more, and I am sure you have the answers. I don't know if this is the right time or place for this, but I feel blind without knowledge, I think we should have a discussion..."
This had to happen. let's see what can we do to reduce the damage... And gain enough time so that the Shapeshifter can appear.
"Well i just found out my self that the one we are chasing was not a necromancer, in fact he was a drow wizard in this city wich had to prove himself for a place in his house... and i was her target. And there are two ways to get to her... the impossible and the very hard way. My first choice is for me infiltrate her house and assasinate her. Seeing that she is the leader of The Mistrizia house, a house of maidens... you sense the irony...The other option would require your help...for you to join her house and rise in ranks.. and draw her outside the city where she would be no match against our powers combined. I know that this is a great thing to ask of you... i know that your fight is against necromancers and undead but... cough*... i hope that you would find it in your heart that my cause is worthy too... I sugest that we sleep on it and tomorow  you shall inform me of your decision."

And without allowing her enough time to say "NO" Nemesis heads towards the stairs to the upper floor. He knows that there is almost no chance for her to agree to such a suicidal plan.her fight is not against the drow.she does not trust him. she has no logical reason to agree and she is lead only by logic. but deep inside him there is a small hope that he knows she will kill as the dawn brakes.

And each of them goes to his own room... and each of them dreams...

@Daemian
He is more valuable to me alive than dead, I  have no reason to inform house Maerdyn of his failure...for now.
â€Ã...“Very well I will not inform house Maerdyn, but I have yet another task for you.
â€Ã...“The mushrooms you broth me are the key ingredient to a very special type of poison, one there is no cure for and who's effects are only visible at the very last moment. Very interesting, don't you think?
Anyway, I had it made in a massage oil. I then visited my elder sister and replaced one of her oils with the poison .The visit was a dreadful experience but well worth it. If all goes to plan, in a few days my sister will be dead and I will be the matron's  eldest daughter. My other sisters are weak! With her out of the way I have  no worries about becoming  the next matron mother.
Now I can concentrate on making house  Mistrizia stronger. However, a recent raiding party on the surface informed me of something strange. They saw something crash from the skies. They say it was like a giant bird made of metal. Normally, surface matters don't concern me. Why should they? But this is very strange and it happened very close to one of the entrances to the surface. In two days a new raiding party will go to the surface. I want you to accompany them and find out anything you can about this so called metal bird . I don't want you to take any unnecessary risks. Just gather some information and return here as quickly as possible. â€Ã...“ Nashana gives Daemian two small vials ( one with a glowing violet liquid and the other with a green liquid) and a small pouch.
The violet vial will heal your wounds faster and the green one will allow you to take the form of a surface dweller for a short period of time. In the pouch you have 3000 gold coins. They will cover any expenses on the surface and they are also your reward for the mushrooms. If you have any questions you may ask them.
I move on in the coldest snow
The winter breezes make my cheeks glow
My lips still covered with the blood
Thatââ,¬â,,¢s what I took, what I got

@Shadow
"Yes i can sense the battle raging north of here." Maybe we will follow these blood tracks later, i think that they are heading towards a hidden entrance in the mountain leading to the Underdark...a very unhospitable place to be if you are not a drow. But...for now let's hurry and help your friends" The woman noded and followed him. Through some thick vines and thorn bushes they both went, not a scratch on either of them. Nature it seems,protects them from harm and the Archdruid knows it. They reached a small cliff near a small waterfall. When they looked down they saw a small ship crushed in the river and a huge Elder Umberhulk was slaming away at the ship with sparks coming out with every hit. Suddenly there was a powerfull noise and the shield around the ship turned blue, then red and finally vanished. The humans inside were now exposed. One of them badly injured and the other two managed to get out of the ship before the Umberhulk charged the ship bending it's armor like it was paper. The two were trying to run away shooting some king of energy bolts at the creature but with no effect. The Umberhulk then stunned them from one yell, the two remaining motionless watching as the creature was closing in on them. This all happened so fast that the Archdruid and the woman didn't had time to react, beeing pure witnesses to the fight below. When they recovered the woman said: "Stay here... i'll go help my friends" and turned on her lightsabre and jumped into the water from a rather high distance, but she didn't fall like she was supposed to, she glidded softly and landed safetly behing the Umberhulk. The creature sensed her presence and yelled a second time towards her. The Archdruid was astonished, although she heard the yell she hadn't  been stunned. He was then thinking: "She must have very strong spiritual powers if she can stand the yell of an Elder Umberhulk...". The woman than went full charge twards the creature, jumped and slashed one arm of the Umberhulk cauterizing the wound instantly. The creature yelled out so hard from the pain that the two friends of the woman fainted and the woman was stunned. The Archruid himself sensed the chill from the yell and decided that the fate of those humans is in his hands. He knows that the Umberhulks are Underdark creatures and therfore are not under his control. He pulled out his staff hit the ground two times with it and a powerfull roar has been heard in the forest. The Umberhulk was not taking notice at the druid he was heading towards the two humans that were laying on the ground unconsccious. But before the creature could get close enough to grab one of them behind them the power of the Archdruid has made it's appearance. An Ent ten times taller then the Umberhulk took the humans with one of his branches and then as the Umberhulk was slowly retreating, the Ent crushed it like a fly, leaving behind a large mass of goo and bowels. The Ent laid the humans near the stunned woman and then helped the Archdruid descend too. the Archdruid conjured a pack of timberwolves to guard the survivors and the strange ship and then climbed on the Ent and ventured into the forest looking for some plants to cure the wounded...
Meanwhile, as the Ent dissapeared into the forest the woman woke up... Looking around and saw the creature squished she was wondering: "What or who could destroyed this creature in such a way?" She than looked around for the Archdruid but didn't see him, only his guards, the timberwolves..."Hmm....i think this man is more powerful here than any Jedi or Sith. It's a good thing i meet him at the tavern... he has so much power..."
